For many years I have been dedicated to my own healing. I knew I had fears that seemed to be subconsciously driving my decisions and reactions in all areas of my life. But what I didn't realize was that beneath the fears was a pervasive belief that I wasn't good enough and that I was inherently unworthy. 

These beliefs and fears have been with me my entire life, formed by my experiences and perceptions. Some of them by what others have said to me or done to me, but also what I perceived they believed about me or how I thought they saw me. A pattern of judging and comparing left me constantly trying to find my value and where I fit in regards to others around me. The expectations of my family and culture also added to this, affirming my belief that no matter what I did, it wasn't good enough. I wasn't good enough. 

A memory just came into my awareness of a time when I was about 8 years old, being bullied on the bus before school. Some kids put a garbage can over my head. They were laughing and calling me names and as I sat there with the dirty bucket on my head like a hat. I felt humiliated, but more than that, I felt worthless, like I was garbage. In the scheme of things, this event wasn't a big deal. I wasn't physically hurt, and the whole incident only lasted a few minutes. But the effects of it are still with me more than 40 years later. These little "insignificant" experiences do make an impact. As I sat on that bus, my subconscious took on the belief that I was garbage, and that belief has been influencing me all this time, without me realizing it.

For too long this prison of unworthiness and fear has kept me from knowing my own value, receiving what I deserve, and sharing who really I am with others. Come fly with me as we break free and soar beyond these old ways of being!
